Northern Ontario is home to a vast amount of snow mobile trails. During the summer months many of these trails stay open perfect for motor crossing, 4 wheeling or just joy riding on a side by side. Not known to many, there are designated roads and highways in and around Muskoka region that permit recreational vehicle to ride on. This connects the many trails and allows you to travel travel between towns.
It was a pretty cold morning and the rain moved in making it very uninviting to jump on the side by side and enjoy some sites. We decided to wait until day light to see if the rain would stop and the temperature would warm up. We were wrong, the area just got more wet meaning the trails might have gotten flooded and that could get dangerous.
After giving up on the weather letting up we decided to still head out and take the dry roads with the side by side to Suds on Main Pub in Kearney a near by town for some lunch. Service was friendly and the food was tasty good. If you are ever close to Kearney I would recommend to stop by and enjoy some food and drinks. They are located at 108 Main St, Kearney, ON POA 1MO. http://www.sudsonmain.com
On our way back the weather let up and we were able to take a few of the trails back to the cottage, making a splash and getting dirty. Maybe next year we will have better luck and take a bigger trip cause this is the last time we can make it up here before winter.
