After riding over to Blaine’s place in the wee hour of the morning and going over our packs to make sure we had everything we needed for the big ride, we headed off.
Our adventure started from Churchill Meadows in Mississauga, from there we headed straight to downtown Oakville for a quick stop at Starbucks for breakfast and coffee. After we were done our coffees we got back on our bikes and headed across to Burlington through Spencer Smith Park, where the views were spectacular. We continued though the trails towards Hamilton, so far, it has been a quick easy ride and the weather had been on our side.
As we entered Hamilton we caught a head wind that made it feel like we were on an uphill battle that didn’t have an end and the humidity was making the heat even more unbearable. The trail made its way out on the roadway where it became more narrow and dangerous, but we kept pushing on. This bike ride had slowly becoming less scenic and more cumbersome. The incline were getting steeper and my energy had reach a new level exhaustion.
With every peddle I was becoming more anxious to get to our hotel so I can finally relax my legs. Somewhere, as we got closer to Niagara, Blaine and I lost track of each other. We both were so tired that we couldn’t even put the effort to reconnect and decided to just meet at the hotel at the top of hill in Niagara. When I got their I couldn’t wait to remove my shoes put my feet up and just relax. We did it.
Had a blast riding with you to Niagara on the Lake to Niagara falls …I can still see you enjoying that ice-cream …oh and my flat tire which wasn’t so enjoyable ! lol
