As many of us weight lifters know there is a lot of misconceptions on the weight lifting belt. Some feel it is a form of weakness and can become a disadvantage in body building.

After researching many articles online. I have come to the conclusion that belts are intended to help stabilize the core and prevent injuries to muscles that you are not targeting. Especially during workouts like dead lifts and squats, when the weights you are lifting is substantial.
