It’s been so long since I have seen my nephew Tailer and we both haven’t changed a bit. Tailer has always been athletic growing up, he several style of dance and a lot of those skill and discipline is still ingrained in him. That is why I wanted to see if we both were strong enough to hold this pose.
A planche is a skill in gymnastics in which the body is held parallel to the ground, giving the illusion of floating. It is a move that requires significant strength and balance. To do a two person Planche the second person will have to counter balance the first person by extending their body over top of their shoulders, requiring a lot of core muscles. The key to this pose is for the second person to hold as still as they can and trust the first person the balance them with his hands. This slightest movement can cause the first person to jerk too quickly and cause a chain reaction losing balance. Letting the first person take full control of balancing can be very tricky cause your body naturally reacts when it feels that you’re going to fall. It took us many tries to figure this all out, but we didn’t give up.
